III. 7:35am    Executive Director Update

  • Giving and investment momentum: The Foundation has recorded $1.63 million in donations through 1,031 gifts, along with $918,896 in investment income. The year-to-date increase in net assets is $1.626 million.
  • Community dollars moving. Through today, 291 grants and scholarships totaling $619,793 have been processed across our funds.
  • Fall engagement is building. Jeans & Jewels has recorded $29,800 in income to date, and has $13,700 in promises to give including a new $10,000 sponsorship. Evening of Gratitude is September 24, the next Nonprofit Impact Tour is October 8, and Jeans & Jewels is November 7.   • WGC – Gather to Give restored in-person grant presentations and voting for the first time since before the pandemic. Members awarded $22,000 to 10 organizations serving women and families. Their Final Event is coming up soon.
  • Governance and transparency. The 2025 audit is available, the Form 990 is before the Board for review, and staff continues reviewing fund agreements and correcting older administrative issues so our records match donor intent and current needs
  • Reading for our DAF Holders AND given to financial advisors: Summer 2026 DAF Catalog
  • Legacy Luncheon – update from Liz. Legacy Luncheon Handouts and inserts.
  • Data Indicators Project – On track for a early September go live date
  • Out and About: Donor Tour link. Community Conversations PR.

OLD BUSINESS

  1. Help Executive Director “tell our story” by connecting CFDC staff with potential donors. Board Challenge?
  2. Meeting Minutes – Liz backup for Medin; using AI now to reference
  3. Board expectations – attend as many events as possible to show commitment. Consideration of at least 2/3 of board members becoming members of Legacy Society. Leads/Contacts – Board member to try and have 12 leads/year for Legacy Society – soft leads for Georgina/Chelsea
  4. NDA, Privacy, information handling, disclosures – Betty Vang, Waznik Heike executive assistant to sign.
  5. Board of Director Grid. Board listing needs to be updated. Also provide strengths to this list.
  6. Emergency/Urgent text chain for BOD and Staff? Virtual meeting in December and possibly August. Review possibly creating a virtual calendar for Board Members
  7. Create/develop Men’s Giving Circle. Hastings talked with Mark Wallskog (Tanglewood) and Jim McGuire Potential first meeting July 21 at Wilson Creek
  8. Restart Fund Asset Development committee
  9. Continuing to bridge gap between Board and staff members
  10. Getting more policies/procedures developed. Refresh Board knowledge bylaws and policy/procedures.
  11. Health insurance for staff and executive director – continue to find options
