Bjarne Heian Scholarship Fund

Brought over as a Trust into MAPS and thereafter transferred to us. Original Intent that we are looking at is Page 7: A recipient of a Heian scholarship may have the scholarship renewed for three (3) additional, successive one-year terms, provided that the recipient shall maintain at least a 3.0 grade point average (on 4.0 scale), and provided the recipient demonstrates satisfactory progress toward completion of a course of study that will result in the award of an appropriate degree of higher education.

Request: To change it to a non renewable scholarship more suited to it net assets.

Irma Schempf Kabot Scholarship Fund

Brought over from a trust in New York in 2021 as part of the settlement of his estate. Important part reads: “Applicants must have been accepted to one of the following Institutes of Higher Education: Carleton College, Northfield, Minnesota; Harvard University, Cambridge, Massachusetts, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Cambridge Massachusetts; Stanford University, Palo Alto, California; Williams College, Williamstown, Massachusetts; or Yale University, New Haven, Connecticut.

Request: This scholarship has failed to meet the charitable class rule. No applicants b/c we are told no MHS student is attending the above schools. Our request is to add the following schools: University of Michigan Ann Arbor, University of Chicago, Northwestern University, Washington University (Missouri).

Annabel Bauer BSN Nursing Scholarship Fund

This Fund was set up by Annabel’s brother Bob who is now in memory care. Liz was able to speak with a relative who knew Annabel. The administrative guidelines we are looking to change is: Applicant must be pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing and must demonstrate adequate potential for being admitted to the school’s Nursing Program by his/her junior year.

Request: To add physician’s assistant by changing it to read: Applicant must be pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing or a field of study leading to a nurse physician’s assistant and must demonstrate adequate potential for being admitted to the school’s Nursing or Physician Assistant Program by his/her junior year.
